David William Phillips is a National Board Certified Teacher of Secondary Social Studies. He's been at Wakefield High School in Raleigh, North Carolina since 2007 where he's taught AP European History, World History, American History, Holocaust and Genocide in World Studies, and several other courses.
Dave earned his BA at the University of Iowa majoring in both History and Media Studies and holds an MA in Teaching Secondary Social Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He has lived in London and Dublin and has toured Europe with students. He lives with his wife, Gretchen, an art teacher, and their children, Gus and Anna, in Raleigh.
Dave enjoys playing guitar, thought-provoking science fiction, superhero cartoons, PC strategy games, lounging by the pool, cooking, gardening, and travel. His favorite color is orange, he likes pineapple, and he drinks too much coffee.
